Lets face it, are you like me and just don’t get enough exercise, you know you should do more but you just don’t. Are you carrying a few extra pounds around in that spare tyre around you waist. Well join the majority of people.

The modern world has us sitting more and more in front of computers, we are both doing it now. We are using our brains more, but the rest of our body is not getting used enough. More exercise is what I’m talking about if you didn’t realise.

You don’t have to suddenly become a gym rat and spend most of your waking life in the gym. A good way to get started is with an elliptical trainer. An elliptical trainer is a cross between a rowing machine, a bicycle and a treadmill. The advantage is they are easy on your joints, they are low impact, they are quiet so you can use them in front of the TV and not have to have the volume so loud you deafen the neighbours.

A good elliptical trainer workout is to exercise for 30 mins, spend 5-6 mins warming up then, crank up the resistance or stride a bit faster so you begin to start breathing a bit heavier. Do this for a further 20 mins and then cool down for another 5mins.

Elliptical trainers provide an ideal introduction for the beginner, or someone that hasn’t exercised for a good while to get back into shape. Forming a good habit of exercising like this at least 3 times a week will work wonders in improving you health and energy levels.
